Sorry for the delay in getting this report out, been a busy week. I competed in Greenville this week at the Project Host event. It had moved this year to a new location and I was a bit skeptical about the new location. It worked out well. Get out a few kinks for next year and the event will roll on to be a great one. I would like to say I had a great week with the judges, but I didn’t. I just messed up. My pork was a little tough and my ribs were slightly undercooked. I just didn’t put the attention into the prep that I should have. Congratulations to Blarney Que for 1st place in Pork and Sheppard’s BBQ for 1st in Ribs. I did however manage to make a great wing for Friday evening that won 1st place in wings. Again we couldn’t be out here competing without our sponsors: Royal Oak Charcoal, Carolina Cookwood, & Pit Barrel Cookers. Thanks are also needed to Charles Crosby for his help as Assistant Pitmaster! He was great! Next week May 20th we will be in Williamston SC. Come on out and try some great BBQ and visit with me. I really need a win in Pork this week!
